Bodie’s Bookshelf – Flying Dogs by Julia Christe

The latest addition to Bodie’s Bookshelf is FLYING DOGS by Berlin-based photographer Julia Christe. She was inspired to capture dogs in an up-pup-and-away motion by her Frisbee-loving dog Flinn and, after much deliberation and experimentation, found the best way to create an airborne effect was the combination of a wind machine and having the dog’s owner gently release their canine charge on to a comfy mat! I’m not sure how Bodie would respond to that (he is a tad clumsy when it comes to the landing aspect of his enthusiastic leaps) but I’m guessing he’d find it preferable to his recent 8 hour transatlantic flight with Virgin.
