The 12 Most Eye-Catching Pet Brand Websites at Superzoo 2015

July 19, 2015

First I was wooed by the Cute Pet Brand Names at Superzoo 2015, now I’m all about the WEBSITE WOW FACTOR. Having checked out 400+ exhibitors showcasing dog-related products, these are the 12 that really caught my eye!

4PETS

The robust aluminum bars on 4pets crates look like something your dog could go shark cage diving in and indeed they are one of the strongest and toughest crate options in the world. Made in Switzerland, they excel in crash tests and bring extra peace of mind to you when touring the Alps et al with your best pal.

BUBBA ROSE BISCUIT COMPANY

Bubba Rose created custom dog treats for the unveiling of Jimmy Choo’s Fall collection, inspired by artist Rafael Mantesso and the charmingly inventive sketches he set around his bull terrier, also named Jimmy Choo. Five Star indeed! The name (and indeed the business) was inspired by Bubba (the bully) and Rose (the greyhound). Both dogs were rescues and a portion of every yummy Bubba Rose sale – from Pina Colada Cake Pops to Pink Punk Rock Cupcakes – goes to animal rescue organizations. They also sell bone and paw-shaped cookie cutters!

I’ve been worrying about how a Californian dog like Bodie is going to react to the Great British Winter and then I discovered Toronto-based Canada Pooch and three dog coats that make me a) long for the chill and b) want to find a matching human look. The first is classic Grey Wool with a fluffy Parka-style hood, the second is the quilted olive green Cityscape Coat (perfect for country house inns!) and the third is the cobalt blue Pacific Poncho raincoat, possibly destined to be the most well-worn. (It’s also interesting to note that CANADA POOCH apparel is made with zero animal products – no down, no fur, no leather. Just lots of style.)

GOLD PAW SERIES

It’s official. I’m succumbing to dog apparel. Gold Paw Series have been making dog wear for over 20 years and along the way they’ve come up with some unique custom textiles like their buttery-soft Cirrus Fleece with 7% Spandex for 4-way stretch – it never met a dog it couldn’t fit! I can see Bodie in the Eggplant color option and then the Red Tartan for a jaunt to Scotland. For dogs who are sensitive to the scorching sun there’s even a new silky Sun Shield Tee with a UPF50 rating that blocks 98% of UV rays! (Also useful for skin conditions and even as an anti-anxiety calming aid.)

MESSY MUTTS

Oh how I love this image and the joyful embrace of mess! Chris & Lauren’s pups Daisy and Davis like bringing the outdoors indoors so they created a range of mats and microfiber towels to help combat the mud and wet paws. I particularly like their cleverly designed feeders – a pair of stainless steel bowls set in a non-slip silicone base with a wide lip and raised edge border to contain those wayward kibbles. Perfect for an ‘enthusiastic’ eater like Bodie!

OUTWARD HOUND

I’ve actually taken Bodie sailing and next time I’d like him to be wearing one of these ‘high flotation’ Nemo-design Fun Fish Dog Life Jackets, as opposed to me clinging onto to him for dear life. I also like the idea of the DayPak – a saddlebag-style dog backpack for day tripping. (Marshmallows on one side, Graham Crackers on the other…) I think Outward Hound is one of the most apt and clever pet brand names in the biz – plus I love their RAISE THE WOOF! slogan – doesn’t it just make you want to get out into nature and romp?

PAWZ DOG BOOTS

This dynamic image is from the same website as the header – talk about eye-popping! The dogs literally bound across the screen. Pawz specialize in natural rubber dog boots for maximum mobility. They look like little balloons on the dogs’ paws but the lack of padding (and zips and straps) gives the dog a sense of security from being able to feel the ground. Made to protect paws from lawn chemicals, sand irritation, ice, snow etc, the boots come in varying sizes and are waterproof, reusable but disposable and 100% biodegradable.

SUITICAL RECOVERY SUIT

Speaking as someone who has tried to prevent Bodie nibbling on his hot spots by trussing him up in a long-sleeved t-shirt and creating something akin to Punjabi pants that immediately fell off, I think this is a BRILLIANT alternative to the cone of shame. (And it’s worth visiting the website just to see the kitten in camo print suit.)

TALL TAILS

The Tall Tails website features THE most gorgeous photography – aside from tasteful, textured images like these for the Sherpa Classic Pet Bed, there is a whole collection of aspirational black and white lifestyle pics showing dogs in harmony with their humans in a light-filled, brick-walled loft or out surveying pine-sprigged mountain vistas. Scrolling through this quality textile website feels like flipping through a magazine featuring your dream life!

WHIMZEES NATURAL DOG TREATS

I’ve been looking for a new dental chew for Bodie and the second I laid eyes on this absurdly cute hedgehog design from Whimzees, I knew I’d found it. This ‘Fan Fave’ helps remove plaque and tartar and is available in orange, brown and green. (Even the colors are all natural – the green, for example, comes from Alfalfa Extract with Vitamins K, C and six Bs!) Made in Holland, where the tulips grow!

WINE BARREL PET BEDS by P.L.A.Y

Billed as ‘Your Dog’s Answer to a Stylish Yappy Hour’, these beds are made from authentic reclaimed Californian wine barrels and available in Brown Mahogany, Burnt Sienna and Light Golden Oak. There are four options for the circular bedding from Greenery (pictured) to Urban Denim. I also have to highlight the Heels & Boots design featuring a silhouetted bulldog and poodle wearing high heels and cowboy boots respectively! (FYI P.L.A.Y stands for Pet Lifestyle and You)

WHOLESOME PRIDE PET TREATS

100% all natural Sweet Potato Fries may look like one of my snacks from Trader Joe’s but they actually provide excellent antioxidants which act as an immune booster to help keep your dog healthier. I’m also keen to try out the dried Banana Bites with coconut oil. No additives except Love, Care and Pride!
