MAGAZINES
I began my journalism career writing articles for women’s magazines including New Woman, Cosmopolitan, Marie Claire, Just Seventeen and more! where I was features writer and travel editor for 4 years. I have also freelanced for movie magazine Empire, British Airways’ High Life, the UK’s biggest-selling weekend supplement Sunday as well as Vintage Life and Modern Dog.
Recent freelance work includes Enterprise’s online travel magazine, a puppy guide for Forthglade (One Paw At A Time) and a series showcasing Devon Dogs for Devon Life, which also featured my photography:
BOOKS
In 2000 I signed my first publishing deal with Random House UK and wrote a series of bestselling travel-themed novels and a US road trip memoir (ON THE ROAD TO MR RIGHT) which hit the Sunday Times Top 10 List alongside my writing hero Bill Bryson. My dog-themed road trip memoir BODIE ON THE ROAD (The Dogged Pursuit of Happiness) is out now in the UK (Summersdale) and Germany (Benevento) and the US (Skyhorse). MAGAZINES: While at more! I was nominated for EMAP’s Columnist of the Year for my Celebrity Date series with such diverse talents as Hulk Hogan, Alexander O’Neal and Patrick Dempsey.
BOOKS: The UK’s Romantic Novelists’ Association nominated my Quebec-set novel WINTER WONDERLAND in the Best Romantic Comedy category in 2013. (The book features a dog-sledding hero and an abundance of husky puppies!)

I have written many magazine advertorials for a targeted audience and can bring a fun, fresh flair to the description of your product, service or attraction. TV & RADIO
TV: I have appeared as a guest on Loose Women (UK’s equivalent of The View), The Wright Stuff with Matthew Wright and as a regular ‘expert’ on Good Morning with Anne & Nick with specialities in fashion, body language and kissing!
RADIO: In my student days at Exeter college I was the Sunday entertainment correspondent on Devonair Radio, specializing in pop gossip. Later, as features writer on Woman’s World magazine, I made monthly appearances on regional radio shows to discuss the results of our (mostly humorous) surveys. Then, while freelancing at Just Seventeen magazine, I became the regular Agony Aunt on Chris Evans’ popular GLR show The Greenhouse – as much as I planned out exactly what I was going to say, Chris always lured me off-script, as you can imagine!
Two recent interviews with me discussing the Bodie on the Road memoir include NPR affiliate KCBX with Thomas Wilmer and the Radio Pet Lady Network with Tracie Hotchner.
